Lincoln City, Oregon to Eugene, Oregon - July 16th, 2010

We got up this morning and loaded up the truck and drove a few miles to breakfast. The gal at the hotel had recommended that we have breakfast at the Beach Dog Restaurant downtown in Lincoln City. It was a cute little restaurant with pictures of dogs all over the place and excellent food. From there we headed down the coast and did some site seeing along the coast and made numerous stops at the view points. What a beautiful area with the road winding down the coast and breathtaking views around every corner and bend of the beautiful ocean, rocks, beaches and waves coming in. We stopped and actually got to see a number of sea otters sunning themselves on the rocks.

We arrived in Eugene around 2:00PM and decided to go to the library as we were going to meet up with Ryan and Darcy at their home at 5:00PM. John went inside to do some reading and I sat outside in front of the library. I was a little hesitatant about leaving our bike in the back of our truck unattended. We had heard that bikes are a hot item in Eugene and are stolen quite often. At 5:00PM we went to Ryan and Darcy's and had a wonderful evening with them. Let me tell you, there two year old son Jackson is such a handsome and well behaved little boy. I could have just spent the entire time hugging him. Stacy and Sonja arrived around 6:00PM and we all sat down to a wonderful dinner of grilled salmon and vegetables and a great salad. After having been eating in a restaurant for the last 8 weeks this was really a treat to have a home cooked meal and wonderful company. Afterwards we all went for a walk up to the water tower and around their neighborhood. We came back to fresh fruit with whipping cream for dessert. Yummy!

Darcy, Ryan, Sonja, Stacy Jo, and Jackson were all going to be going camping on Saturday to the coast so Jackson was really excited about that and mentioned several times that he was going to go camping.

Ryan and Darcy, thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality. We both enjoyed seeing your beautiful home and visiting with everyone. Stacy Jo and Sonja - we were happy that the two of you could join us and wish you the best of luck as you continue on your education journey.
